Skepsi Gallery

Contemporary Australian Studio Ceramics

Skepsi Gallery is very excited to have the opportunity to present four exceptional exhibitions by Australian Ceramic Artists at the Malvern Artists’ Society in 2011. The exhibitions include works by internationally renowned artists and promising emerging artists. These works are of outstanding quality and possess an aesthetic that is sensitive, contemplative and inspiring.

Contemporary Australian Studio Ceramics is an art form attracting interest from an enthusiastic, discerning audience that is rapidly increasing. The visual beauty of a ceramic work can evoke harmony, thought and stillness, add to this the sensual qualities of its tactility, and it is irresistible.

Skepsi Gallery has dedicated 10 years to the exhibiting, promoting, informing and selling of this wonderful art. Over 400 Australian artists have exhibited their work, either in solo or group exhibitions. The works are outstanding and individual, the styles and techniques varied and amazing – translucent porcelains, rich tactile wood fired vessels, modern classics with Asian influence featuring copper reds, celadon’s and chuns, and expressive, sculptural and narrative pieces.

We look forward to sharing and enjoying these exhibitions together.

…Skepsi, a Greek word for “thought and reflection”, epitomises the process underlying the creation and appreciation of art.
