JOHN DOWNTON OAM – Exhibition of Oil Paintings – “SPIRIT OF PLACE – SEARCHING FOR THE STORY”

From his boyhood, John Downton has travelled the country seeking his “Spirit of Place” often during difficult times.  Through his hard-won training and experience, together with frequent “bush painting” stretches with dedicated painting mates such as Leonard Long OAM, he has captured the essence of Australia – the atmosphere of the bush and the rhythms of the sea and coast.
